Generally, poker is played with a deck of 52 cards. It is common to use Jokers in some poker games. Jokers may be used as wild cards, which take any suit.

Each player will receive two cards. The dealer shuffles and deals the cards one at a time. Normally, the dealer is not one of the players.

Each player may bet, fold, or check. The player to the left of the big blind is the first to act. The player to the right of the big blind is the last to act. In the last round, if more than one player remains, the player with the best hand wins the pot.

Players must choose their actions based on probability and game theory. The goal of poker is to create the best hand possible. The best hand is a five-card hand that contains two or more suits. If no suit is higher than another, the hand is a straight. If there is a straight, the higher card wins.
